The Construction Design & Technology (CDAT) Academy was established in 2018 to educate our students on the Building and Construction Trades, both Residential & Mechanical. As a program, we are committed to maintaining a Construction Program course of study that promotes high achievement and incorporates objectively-measured student mastery of defined curricular objectives. Students will gain real-world experience that will help them succeed in college as well as in the workplace.

Vision

CDAT Academy will engage every student in a high-quality, rigorous, and relevant curriculum, developed in partnership with business and industry, promoting creativity, innovation, leadership, community service, and lifelong learning, and allowing students to turn their “passions into paychecks”- their dreams into careers.

Mission

The mission of Construction Design & Technology Academy is to provide industry-linked curriculum and work-based learning (WBL) experiences that enable all students to reach their career goals in order to achieve economic self-sufficiency, compete in the global marketplace, and contribute to Fresno’s economic prosperity.

Outcomes

  • Students who analyze and apply appropriate academic standards required for successful career program completion leading to postsecondary education and employment.
  • Demonstrate health and safety procedures, regulations, and personal health practices.
  • Proficiency in conducting research to create alternative solutions to a problem unique to the Building and Construction Trades sector using critical and creative thinking, logical reasoning, analysis, inquiry, and problem-solving techniques.
  • Demonstration of effective verbal, written, and digital communication skills; ability to effectively function in a team format; demonstrates empathetic listening strategies, and focused strategies needed for success in a business environment.
  • Leadership, organizational, and prioritization strategies for work-based projects.
  • Initiate, and participate in, a range of collaborations demonstrating behaviors that reflect personal and professional responsibility, flexibility, and respect in the Building and Construction Trades sector workplace environment and community settings.
